1. Introduction
Welcome to michelvanderwal.nl. Your privacy is important, and this policy explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected when you use this website.
2. Data collection
This website may collect the following information:
Contact form data. If you send a message through the contact page, I collect your name, email address, and message so I can reply. That form is processed through Brevo (Sendinblue).
Technical data. The hosting provider may log standard server data such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages for security and operations.
Usage data. Self-hosted Umami records page views (path, referrer, browser, and country) so I can see what people read. It does not use marketing cookies or share data with ad networks.
3. How your data is used
Your data is used only to respond to enquiries, keep the site running, and meet legal obligations.
4. Data sharing and third parties
Personal data is never sold. Contact form messages are processed by Brevo so they can be delivered by email. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. How Cloudflare handles that check is described in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Page-view analytics run on my own Umami instance. Data is shared with others only when required by law.
5. Data security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
6. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
7. Cookies
This site does not use marketing cookies. Umami analytics is cookieless. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie to run the contact-form spam check. See the Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details. Essential cookies may also be set by the host for security or session handling.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
